Boardmaker programme wanted

Quest School for Autistic Learners is looking for a sponsor to fund a vital educational programme on CD for its pupils.Boardmaker
Quest occupational therapist Chantel Snyman said the Boardmaker with Speaking Dynamically Pro Bundle Version 6 – for Windows by Mayer-Johnson  was a “great device to assist learners with autism”.  The CDs were invaluable to help pupils with day-to-day activities as well as their studies.
Boardmaker is a powerful Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) software that really can help individuals challenged with significant speech, language or learning difficulties and who need symbol support.Boardmaker1
Boardmaker with Speaking Dynamically Pro turns a computer into a talking word processor, a speech output device and a powerful student-learning tool.
High-level augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) users will appreciate the word prediction, abbreviation expansion and natural-sounding voices for use as AAC software.
Speech-language pathologists and special education teachers can create customised “talking” communication boards and interactive activities, as well as printed materials using PCS.
While the programme costs $799 in America, where it is produced, the poor exchange rate between South Africa and the United States means that the programme will cost more than R8,000 – a luxury price for what is considered a basic classroom tool for autism education in America.
While Quest School would like to own its own copy of the programme, it is willing to share use of the programme with other recognised institutions in  exchange for a pro-rata cost. However, sponsorship of its own copy is first prize!
